Commercial washroom and toilet refurbishment in London
Tired toilets are one of the first things customers and staff notice, and one of the hardest rooms to take out of use in a busy building. We strip out and refit commercial washrooms, from a single staff WC in a shop to the customer toilets in a pub, an office floor or a club changing room. The plumbing, drainage, lighting, extraction and water heating are handled by one team, the work is phased so you always have a toilet available, and the price is agreed before anything starts.

You may find you can sort some of this yourself, without calling us. We are fine with that, and would rather you knew it.
How many toilets you need
For workplaces, the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and the HSE Approved Code of Practice set minimum numbers of toilets and washbasins by headcount: one of each for up to five people, two for six to 25, and so on. Basins need hot and cold, or warm, running water. A refurbishment is a good moment to check you still meet those numbers after staff changes.
Plan it around trading
Most businesses cannot lose every toilet at once. We phase the work so one WC or one side stays in use, or do the noisy strip-out early, late or at the weekend. Tell us your opening hours and your busiest days, and the programme is built around them rather than the other way round.
Hard-wearing and easy to clean
Commercial toilets take far heavier use than a home bathroom. Concealed cisterns behind lockable IPS panels, wall-hung pans for easy floor cleaning, vandal-resistant or sensor taps, and urinals with flush controls so they do not run all night all save time and water. Isolating valves on every fitting mean one fault never closes the whole room.
Ventilation, access and the regulations
Toilets need mechanical extraction, and new or substantially altered facilities may need to meet Building Regulations, including accessible toilet provision where it applies. We will tell you what your job needs, fit the extraction and electrics with our own electricians, and work with your landlord or building management where their approval is needed.
What changes the price
A washroom refurbishment is priced after a survey, and the price is agreed before any work starts. These are the things that make the biggest difference.
The number of fittings
Each WC, urinal, basin and shower adds pipework, drainage and time. A single staff WC is a very different job from a bank of cubicles and urinals.
What is behind the walls and floor
Old soil pipes, a waste that runs the wrong way for the new layout, or a floor that needs levelling all add work. Moving fittings to new positions costs more than replacing them where they are.
Finishes and panels
IPS panels, cubicle systems, sensor taps and high-end sanitaryware cost more than standard fittings, but last better in heavy use. We can price options side by side.
Phasing and working hours
Keeping part of the washroom open, or working early, late or at weekends to avoid trading hours, changes how the job is programmed. We agree the approach with you up front.
We agree the price with you before any work begins, and accept both card and cash.
Questions we often get
Can you refurbish our toilets without closing the business?
Usually, yes. We phase the work so at least one toilet stays in use, and schedule the strip-out and noisiest work outside your opening hours. For a single-WC premises, we agree the shortest practical closure and do it on your quietest day.
Do you handle the electrics and extraction too?
Yes. Our registered electricians fit the lighting, extractor fans, hand dryers and any water heater circuits, so the whole washroom is done by one team and one price.
Can you fit an accessible toilet?
Yes. We fit accessible WCs, including the grab rails, basin and emergency alarm they need. Space is usually the deciding factor, so we will check the room and tell you what is possible before you commit.
Do you refurbish changing rooms and showers?
Yes, for gyms, sports clubs and workplaces. Showers under peak demand need hot water sized for it, strong drainage and valves that are easy to isolate and service, and we plan all of that as part of the job.
How is the price worked out?
After a survey, based on the number of fittings, what is behind the walls and floors, the finishes you choose and how the work has to be phased. The price is agreed with you before anything starts.
Can you keep our existing layout to reduce the cost?
Yes. Replacing fittings in the same positions reuses the existing soil and water connections, which usually keeps the job simpler and quicker. We will tell you where a small layout change is worth it.
Do you work with our landlord or building management?
Yes. Where the landlord or managing agent has to approve the work, tell us what they need to see and we will provide the details, and fit in with any building rules on access and working hours.
